What is titled land?

Helpful Hints

Buying a titled block gives you the best chance of securing the Government Grants (so land is selling quickly!).

What is titled land?

If a block of land is “titled”, it means that there is official documentation identifying who owns it. If a block of land is untitled, it means that document doesn’t exist yet. Most untitled blocks are in the new land estates across Perth and normally don’t have existing services on site like a power dome.

Why is titled land important?

Unfortunately you can’t build your new home on a block of land if it is untitled. This means that you will need to wait until the titles are issued, and the land developer will keep you up-to-date with the expected date.

How does this affect the Government Grants?

To be eligible for the $25,000 HomeBuilder Scheme, your new home must commence construction within 3 months of signing the build contract. So if you sign your build contract and then have to wait for titles, you could miss the deadline.
